Mukashi Banashi (Japanese Folk Tales) is the theme of this year's annual Albuquerque-based Japanese Fall Festival.

Hosted by the New Mexico Japanese American Citizens League.  It will be held on Sunday, September 20, 2015 with a nominal $5 admission.

The full day of festivities promises to be fun-filled for all ages, immersed in the Japanese culture and heritage with entertainment to include Japanese singing, dancing, cultural demonstrations, martial arts, cosplay costume contest, savory Japanese food, sweetened ice (flavored shaved ice), Japanese car clubs showcasing model and vintage vehicles, with vendors from the Southwest region offering a variety of Japanese items. The guest entertainers, all the way from Southern California, Scott Nagatani and Keiko Kawashima, will grace the stage for two performances at 11:30 a.m. and 2 p.m.

The annual Aki Matsuri event is a way of imparting traditions and highlights of the Japanese culture within our multicultural state.
