Get Tranquil with Dirty Dudes

Are you “Spread Too Thin”? Take a time-out from that crazy work schedule and get your chill on with Dirty Heads Tuesday, Aug. 18, at Sunshine Theater (120 Central SW). On tour all the way from Huntington Beach, Calif., promoting their 2014 album Sound of Change, the six-piece band features the surfer-dude mellow rapping of Dustin “Duddy B” Bushnell with crystal vocals from co-front man Jared “Dirty J” Watson. Their music is a sun-bleached fusion of reggae rock and hip-hop seasoned with that easy SoCal vibe. If you’re looking for a fitting anthem to bid the summer adieu, just listen up for hit tune “My Sweet Summer.” And even if you don’t know Dirty Heads by name, you’ll be bound to recognize the chart-topping earworm “Lay Me Down” that will make you wanna escape to Mexico with your partner in crime. A ticket will lighten your wallet a respectable 25 bucks and The Expendables, Katastro and DJ Buddhafunk will get the good feels rollin’ at 7pm. As they say in “Sound of Change,” “You can’t stop what’s already here,” so you might as well join them to get your head dirty and your mind clear. (Renee Chavez)
