The Mimbres Region Arts Council (MRAC), in partnership with Western New Mexico University, is extremely proud to announce the continuation of the Live on the Lawn concert series at Old James Stadium. World-renowned flamenco guitarist Robert Michaels will perform a free concert outdoors on Friday, August 21. Gates open at 5pm and the show kicks off with local favorites Geli & the Heartbreakers, followed by El Paso’s Azucar at 6pm, and Michaels playing from 7:30-9:30pm.

Robert Michaels is a multi-gold and platinum recording artist, winner of a Juno Award (Canadian Grammy) for Best Instrumental Album. Throughout his career, Michaels has worked with noteworthy musicians including Grammy winner Jennifer Warnes and Tony Award nominated Louis Pitre. Michaels is described as an intuitive musician with an electric energy and a captivating blend of styles.

Azucar is described as a Latin salsa style band with Puerto Rican rhythm. Their repertoire includes upbeat salsa and merengue, to contemporary pop ballads. Geli and the Heartbreakers are a local favorite, playing Latin and classic hits.

The outdoor venue at Old James Stadium has proven to be a crowd favorite, with plenty of room for dancing, playing, listening, relaxing and visiting with friends. Little Toad Creek will provide drink sales. Food and community vendors will be present. All community members are invited to attend and encouraged to bring their own lawn chair.
