Bad Jacks Make Good

Randy Stift

If you're anything like us, and we hope to God you are, you need some pulse-pounding renegade rock 'n roll in your life. Fortunately for you, Three Bad Jacks will be tearing their way through town this coming Monday, Aug. 31, screaming their anthems to sex, blood and oil slicks at Low Spirits (2823 Second Street NW). Listen up for tunes that will get your bones on the dance floor like “I've Been Around,” “Run Johnny Run” and “It's Forever.” Grease up your pompadour and get ready for an evening of psychobilly shredding at its finest. For 10 bucks, S.O.L. and The Gunmen kick off this 21+ night. Music starts at 9:30pm so get there early to grab a drink and woo a "Pretty Señorita." (Ty Bannerman)

Rock 'n' Roll at its purest: Dirty, fast, and sexy. New Mexico's The Gunmen start the night off with a dose of Frankenstein-esque rockabilly, followed by Arizona's ShitOuttaLuck -- a punkabilly band that sounds a lot like Johnny Cash and Lux Interior finding a back alley baby and singing it irresponsible lullabys -- and finished by Califonia's own legendy rockabilly band Three Bad Jacks, described as "High impact, soul deep, thoroughly original, uncut rock & roll expression that goes upside the head with stunning force" by Pub Rock Live.

The squares will drool.
