Albuquerque author talks about and signs the first Avenger novel in more than 40 years, The Avenger: The Sun King.

"The Sun King" is the first authorized "Avenger" novel since the 1970s and sequel to the July 1941 "Avenger" pulp story "River of Ice."

The novel is described as such: "He is the crime fighter with the moldable face... the avatar of vengeance... the combination of the Shadow and Doc Savage... And he is back! The villain this time is Sun Koh, who claims to be the last survivor of Atlantis - and he may be the most dangerous man alive. A physical and mental superman with the resources of Nazi Germany at his fingertips, Sun Koh plans to recover an ancient power that could doom millions, and win the war for the Third Reich. Only Richard Benson and the members of Justice, Inc. oppose him. But this time, even the Avenger may have met his match."

Baugh is the author of more than 30 published stories. "The Avenger: The Sun King" is his third novel. For it, he had to do research into Theosophy and the Nazi Aryan Race myth; as well as the original German pulp stories about Sun Koh. Baugh previosly co-wrote "The Vampire Count of Monte Cristo" with Alexandre Dumas; and "Hexagon: Dark Matter" with Romain d'Huissier. He lives in Albuquerque.

Page One Bookstore is located at 5850 Eubank Blvd NE, Suite B-41, in Albuquerque's Mountain Run Shopping Center southeast corner of Eubank and Juan Tabo). The Baugh event is free and open to the public. For more information, please call 294-2026 or visit
