Gildan New Mexico Bowl

For the casual college football fan, it's gonna be hard to predict the outcome of this year's Gildan New Mexico Bowl. The UNM Lobos take on the Arizona Wildcats in this prestigious post-season play to be held at Branch Field at University Stadium on Saturday, Dec. 19, at 12pm. The Lobos had a winning season and were somewhat successful in conference play, too. In contrast, the University of Arizona Wildcats barely made it out alive of the vaunted Pac-12 conference this year. Recall, however, that while the Lobos had to face opponents like Mississippi Valley State, the Wildcats went up against teams like perennial powerhouse UCLA. Moreover, Arizona Head Coach Rich Rodriguez has built a solid program after spending years as the head honcho of programs at West Virginia and Michigan. Still, the Lobos are not to be counted out. With Notre Dame alum Bob Davie at the helm, the team has seen steady improvement during his four-year tenure. With talented running backs like senior Jhurell Pressley on board, the Lobos have proven that anything is possible, even a rare bowl appearance and year-end win. (August March)
