Albuquerque Little Theatre will be holding auditions for the stage play The Diary of Anne Frank on Saturday, February 20 starting at 1 PM. Auditions will be held in the 2nd story rehearsal room at ALT, 224 San Pasqulae SW, Albuquerque, NM 87104.

Please email with your name, age, acting resume (or list of performance experience), a headshot (or recent photo), and contact information (phone number and email address). After receiving your email, you will be given a time slot for your audition.

For your audition please prepare a 1-2 minute monologue.

Callbacks will be on February 21 starting at 1 PM. Callbacks are by INVITATION ONLY.  For callbacks, actors will be doing cold readings from the script.

Scripts are available for check out with a $10 deposit. To check out a script, ask to make an appointment to pick up the script in your email, or call Ryan Jason Cook, Anne Frank Production Coordinator, at 575-791-1233. DO NOT CALL THE BOX OFFICE.


ALT will be holding auditions for the following roles for The Diary of Anne Frank:

Anne Frank (Female, 12 - 14)

A lively, curious girl of thirteen, always making the best of bad situation. Vivid imagination.


Margot Frank (Female, 18 - 22)

Anne’s older sister, quiet, modest, reserved: the complete opposite of Anne. The dutiful child, the behaved child.


Otto Frank--this role has been pre-cast.


Edith Hollander Frank (Female, 40s)

Anne’s reserved and nervous mother.


Putti Van Daan (Male, 40’s - 50’s)

An irritable former business partner of Otto Frank. Selfish, scared and openly critical of others, especially Anne.


Petronella Van Daan (Female, 40’s - 50s)

Putti Van Daan’s vain and finicky wife who prizes the material things in life.


Peter Van Daan (Male, 16 - 22)

The Van Daans' son, he is two-and-a-half years older than Anne. Shy and reclusive.  Anne’s best friend. They share a first kiss together.


Albert Düssel (Male, 40’s-60’s)

A dentist and an acquaintance of the Franks who joins the group after they have been in hiding for two months.


Miep Gies (Female, early 20’s)

A very well-liked, generous secretary in Mr. Frank’s office.


Mr. Kraler (Male, 30’s)

A businessman who works with Miep Gies to help protect the people in hiding.


The Diary of Anne Frank will perform from April 15 – May 1. Curtain is at 7:30 PM on Fridays and Saturdays, and 2:00 PM on Sundays. There will also be two Thursday performances; Thursday, April 21 at 10 AM, and Thursday, April 28 at 7:30 PM.

First read through/rehearsals begin Monday, February 29. Rehearsals are typically Sunday through Thursday evenings (6:30 PM-9:30 PM).
