Panel discussion with Jeanette Hart-Mann, Catherine Harris, Katya Crawford, Andrew Fearnside, and Bryce Hample.

A companion to the Soul/Soil art exhibit

Please register at 897-8831

Since the beginning of time, life has been depicted as it relates to soil. In fact, the word Adam means earth or earthling and Eve–life. For thousands of years, artists and amateurs have been expressing this special relationship through drawings, paintings, and sculptures. Some might say that the visual and cognitive connections between soil and soul have faded in recent history, but there are exciting artistic and environmental movements that are currently realizing and reviving them. Through Deborah Koon's Sonatas of Soil documentaries, it will become evident some of the admirable actions that are taking place around the world. Afterwards, panelists Jeanette Hart-Mann, Catherine Harris, Katya Crawford, Andrew Fearnside and Bryce Hample will field questions about their artwork, their plans for expressing the vital soil/soul/art nexus in the near future, and what soil means.
