Pianist, composer, producer, educator, and mechanic, Kevin Zoernig, was trained by the likes of Bill Dixon and George Russell. As he describes it, “his experimental urges are informed by a strong grounding in multiple stylistic traditions.” Over the years he has worked with the likes of Nat Adderly, Rita Coolidge, Bob Moses, Ferron, and Max Roach. He performs on both keyboards and accordion with several of Northern New Mexico's hardest working bands. He's also been “sneaking into an Art Deco auditorium to record a new solo album,” which will be celebrated in a series of appearances including tonight's at the Outpost, featuring new and old originals, improvisations, and standards. Entitled, Savior Noir Crucifixion-Resurrection & N.O.L.A. Soul Avenger CD Release," Sina Soul describes this event as follows: "Sina Soul Queen & A Love Supreme” is the result of A Love Supreme- at once a musical mix of my Daddy's North African Latino Mardi Gras jazz geechee gumbo roots and my Mama's Royal Native Polynesian coconut mango ocean soul waves. As a Socio-Ethnomusicologist and multilingual, multi genre vocalist, I have traveled the globe researching both the Scriptures and the syncretic indigenous rhythms that exhilarate the human heart and soothe the soul; the result is the poly-rhythmic Word-Sound-Power of "A Love Supreme."…
