BernCo Bernie's Sheep Day and First Impression Youth Day Rodeo
See cowfolk ride around barrels, poles, flags and watch other activites like goat tying, steer dobbing, bull riding, calf riding and more. Pony rides and a petting zoo will be available for kids.
Hey cowboys and cowgirls, it’s time to strap your boots on and get ready for the Third Annual BernCo Bernie’s Sheep Day and First Impression Youth Day Rodeo, Saturday, Aug. 6 at Bernalillo County’s Dennison Park Rodeo Grounds in the South Valley, 7001 Coors Blvd. SW.
The event will run from 9 a.m. ‘til the sheep come home.
There will be rough stock and timed events in the youth rodeo. Events include barrels, poles, flags, goat tying, steer dobbin’, bull riding, calf riding, mutton busting, stick horse and more.
Age categories are 6 and under, 7 – 9, 10 – 13, 14 – 18 and an open division for team roping, ribbon roping, breakaway and chute doggin’.
All events are free for the youth to participate but pre-registration is required, just go online to www.FIRC.bravesites.com.
Twenty-contestant cap per event. Cowboys and cowgirls can also see sheep shearing demonstrations, enjoy pony rides, visit a petting zoo, and shop with artisan vendors. Come out and meet the real BernCo Bernie sheep.
