Carolyn Peterson is a graduate of the University of New Mexico and a former teacher. A member of the New Mexico Art League and Rio Grande Art Association, she has studied Chinese watercolor and splash art with Taiwanese-American artist Ming Franz and watercolor painting for many years with Carol Carpenter. Inspired by the unique beauty of New Mexico's deserts, skies and mountains, Peterson works in acrylics and adapts traditional Chinese painting techniques to create exuberant, joyful and colorful abstract paintings.
