 * Riley was a freshman at Sandia High School for just two short weeks, and a Matador football player for six short weeks before a baseball sized mass was discovered in his left temporal node just one week before his 14th birthday in 2014. Sandia Matadors of all ages rallied around Riley for the next 15 months while he fought for his life against what was identified as Stage IV Glioblastoma Brain Cancer – an aggressive cancer rarely seen in children.  

 Doctors originally only gave Riley 3-6 months to live; but because of his strong faith and courage, we were able to share 15 glorious months with him before his journey ended on November 18, 2015.

Riley’s Legacy is the Diamond Pediatric Cancer Society. Our focus is to raise awareness of ALL pediatric cancers, and the urgent need for increased funding for research so that no child’s life is ever cut short due to cancer.
