A former "Raelette" with the legendary Ray Charles, Tracey Whitney began performing with "The Whitney Family" at age 11. Following her 1991 tour with Charles, she spent 5 years singing solo in Japan, and released two independent albums on her Babydoll Entertainment label. She has opened concerts for contemporary jazz stars such as Marc Antoine, Euge Groove, Will Donato, Darren Rahn and more and since relocating to Albuquerque in 2012 from her native Los Angeles, she has been thrilling audiences with her brand of classic jazz & sophisticated soul. Joining Whitney for this concert are Paul Gonzalez, trumpet; Dimi Disanti, guitar; Sid Fendley, piano; Milo Jaramillo, bass; and John Bartlit, drums.

Saxophonist, flutist and singer, HORACE ALEXANDER YOUNG will bring his quartet to THE OUTPOST PERFORMANCE SPACE on August 18, 2016. His group will appear second on the bill that opens with the stellar voice Tracey Whitney, In addition to music from his last CD, he will be playing a set of standards and some of the music he recorded with legendary South African Jazz composer and pianist, Abdullah Ibrahim (Dollar Brand), with whom he toured and recorded for 17 years. His quartet includes John Rangel (piano), Paul Brown (bass) and John Trentacosta (drums).
