James D’León piano

Join pianist and International Steinway Artist for a special return performance to Chatter’s Cabaret. Through his widely varied and specifically tailored programs, D’León takes you on a musical journey that ranges from romantic works by Alkan and a left-hand work by Godowsky to exciting contemporary compositions by Rzewski that uses every note on the keyboard. To balance out the concert, D’León opens the second half with jazz standards by Bill Evans and ends with not one, but three tangos by legendary Argentinian composer Astor Piazzolla. To add to his unique performances, his explains each work by highlighting interesting facts and describing what was going on in the composer’s life when the composition was merely a thought. This program has brought audiences and critics to their feet across the country.
