If you're the kind of person who cleans your freezer every fall to make room for the green chile that will last you the rest of the year, well, the Bosque Chile Festival is for you. This celebration of the harvest of New Mexico's favorite food features music, activities for kids and adults, crafts and chile, duh. Bring an appetite to the National Hispanic Cultural Center on Saturday, Aug. 20, between 11am and 7pm and a little cash—its free to attend, but if you want to participate in the chile salsa taste-off its gonna cost you $5. Celebrate the staple of local cuisine with entertainment, kids’ activities, arts and crafts vendors, food trucks, beer, wine and chef demonstrations.

Join in the celebration of the chile harvest on Saturday, Aug. 20, 2016 at the National Hispanic Cultural Center from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. This is a free event and festivities include entertainment, kids’ activities, arts and crafts vendors, food trucks, beer, wine, and chef demonstrations.

Entertainment schedule:

11:00 am – Leah Leyva & The Band (Blues/Rock) 

12:15 pm – The West Wind Band (Country)

 1:15 pm - La Chaparrita Monica Valdez 

 1:30 pm – Rebecca Arscott (Reggae/Pop) 

 2:35 pm – On Point Dance Studio (Jazz, Hip Hop, Folklorico Dance)

 3:30 pm- Severo y Grupo Fuego ( NM Spanish Music)

 5:30 pm – Crossroads (Variety Top 40)

Local individuals and restaurants will compete in a chile and salsa taste-off. Attendees can pick the winner of the taste-off by purchasing a “sampler wrist band” for $5. For more information, call 468-1418.
