Help the farmers with planting, weeding and harvesting.
Go outside, experience the Rio Grande River Valley, and get your hands dirty by lending a hand on the farm! Los Poblanos is home to a working organic farm that produces nutritious food for guests of the Inn & event goers. It also boasts a beautiful greenhouse dating back to 1934, where all seed propagations take place. And we can't forget our lavender field, grown and harvested to give us the top notch essential oil for our artisan lavender product line! Our volunteer program allows people to see all the workings of this beautiful farm and can leave you with a feel-good disposition for being a steward of the land and helping make the farm a showcase for visitors and locals alike in Albuquerque. With the assistance of volunteers, jobs can be carried out in a fun interactive way, which can involve a social element and also the opportunity to make some good friends. So join us, and spread the word! Farm Volunteer Days generally occur on the first Saturday of each month. Our program also rewards volunteers as they accumulate hours with perks like t-shirts, organic tote bags, and discount cards to use at Los Poblanos! Today's focus will be: Planting & Harvesting Vegetables Help us prepare our organic fields for the busy growing season! Registration is required. Please meet under the covered table area in front of the Farm Shop.
