A rhythm and movement celebration offering performances by world-class dancers as well as non-competitive dance showcases, parties and workshops.
Grab your dancing shoes and turn up the heat at the annual Albuquerque Latin Dance Festival! The four-day rhythm and movement celebration offers performances by world-class dancers as well as non-competitive dance showcases, parties, and workshops. Additional attractions include dance films, lectures, and live musical performances. The festival’s main concert on Saturday night features Orquesta Canela, a 14-piece all-women salsa band from Colombia, and Grammy-nominated artist Micky Cruz, for a magical night of music and dance on the NHCC’s Plaza Mayor. Founded in 1992, La Orquesta Canela has attained national and international recognition with the release of nine albums and tours in the U.S. and Canada, as well as Latin America. Award-winning singer/songwriter Micky Cruz, born in Nicaragua, is now based in Albuquerque and has performed throughout the U.S. for many years. Presented in partnership with Guanábana Productions.
