A series of colorful abstract works by mixed media artist Rebecca Nolda. Runs through 10/29.
Blue Lily Atelier presents the exhibit “Fault Lines” in October, featuring colorful abstract works by mixed media artist Rebecca Nolda. The exhibit runs from October 5 to October 29.
The opening reception is scheduled for Friday, October 7, 5-8 pm, with an artist insight talk at 6 pm. Light refreshments will be served during the reception.
Fault Lines, the series, reflects the notion that the foundation (mental or physical) upon which we stand, rest, or position ourselves, is somewhat of an illusion and can change in an instant. The artist's interpretation is that a fault line is a boundary, a point of change—things popping out, things folding in on themselves; things coming to the surface; others disappearing. The outcome is unpredictable, much like life. Those parts of our lives that we thought were solid are subject to change from both inside and outside forces.
Rebecca Nolda completed her studies in studio art/art history at the University of Minnesota and subsequently spent several years in the corporate world as a graphic designer and technical illustrator. After moving to New Mexico from Minnesota, she began pursuing art full time, influenced by the sights and spaces of this new environment. She has exhibited artist’s books, paintings, collage, and drawings nationally and internationally. She is a Signature member of the NM Watercolor Society.
