A woman's grandson becomes stranded on her farm with an aging magician.

"She Sings to the Stars", a narrative feature film of a New Mexico story, shot in New Mexico, will screen its Santa Premiere on Friday September 30. It will be screened each day through Thursday October 7. Each screening will be followed by a Q&A.

The story: The endless desert. A Native American grandmother lives alone tending her corn. Her half-Mexican grandson and a white, aging magician are stranded. No water. A river of stars. Everything changes: anything is possible.

 

Santa Fe Premiere: Friday September 30: 6PM pre-screening party; 7PM screening followed by Q&A; post-screening party.

SCREENINGS:

-Saturday October 1 at 12:30PM screening

-Sunday October 2 screening at 2PM followed by a panel discussion: Reflecting on the Standing Rock Sioux demonstrations: "What is the relationship between water, the feminine and Native America?"

Panelists:

-Fannie Loretto, Jemez Pueblo grandmother, award-winning traditional potter & lead actress in She Sings to the Stars

-Grandmother Flordemayo, founding member of the International Council of 13 Grandmothers and a Curandera Espiritu, or healer of divine spirit 

-Glenn Aparicio Parry, writer, founder of the SEED Institute, creator of "The Circle for Original Thinking"

-Clara Natonabah, Navajo singer/songwriter, activist & supporter of the Standing Rock Sioux demonstrations

-Jennifer Corcoran, writer/director of She Sings to the Stars will lead & moderate the panel discussion.

After the panel discussion, the audience will be invited to participate in a Q&A.
