Ugly's odd, gawky looks incite prejudice from his family and neighbors in the duck yard. After being separated from the farm and pursued by a hungry Cat, Ugly must find his way home. Along the way, he finds friendship and discovers his true beauty and glorious destiny.

HONK! the Musical is presented by the award-winning, local children's theatre organization The Growing Stage at ABQStages. The production is a family friendly, musical retelling of The Ugly Duckling. Honk! is performed by a multi-talented, multi-generational cast, ages seven to 65.

When he finally hatches, Ugly's odd, gawky looks instantly incite prejudice from his family and neighbors in the duck yard. Separated from the farm and pursued by a hungry Cat, Ugly must find his way home. Along the way he finds friendship and discovers his true beauty and glorious destiny.

The performances run October 6 - 16 at the African American Performing Arts Center. Tickets are $16 per person. One dollar of each ticket sold will benefit UNM Children’s Hospital.
