Musicians Bert Dalton, Rob “ Milo” Jaramillo and John Bartlit perform jazz.
One of five recipients of the 2013 Santa Fe Mayor’s Award for Excellence in the Arts, pianist, arranger, producer and educator, Bert Dalton has been living and performing in Santa Fe for 20 years. Originally from Chicago, Dalton has led a number of groups including the Chicago Jazz Exchange, Yoboso (which won the 1996 BET Jazz Discovery Competition) and the Brazil Project. He has performed with Herbie Mann, Regina Carter, Bud Shank, Anita O’Day, Victor Mendoza, Chris Calloway, and Howard Alden, and has opened for the likes of Tito Puente, Pancho Sanchez, and the Count Basie Orchestra. He also recorded with John Clayton and Jeff Hamilton and has performed in concerts, clubs, and jazz festivals throughout the continental US, Alaska, Hawaii, New Zealand, and Australia. Last at Outpost in 2013 to present a tribute to Dave Brubeck, Dalton returns with his longtime trio which features two of the most prolific and sought after musicians in the state— bassist, Rob “ Milo” Jaramillo; and drummer, John Bartlit.
