Straight Outta Carlsbad
Locals will have the chance to pick a nearly five decade NPR national correspondent's (with local roots) brain on Oct. 23, starting at 6pm in celebration of KUNM's 50th birthday celebration. Linda Wertheimer was the original All Things Considered director and eventual host that brought the show from 6 million listeners to 10 million, so you can bet your bottom dollar that she will have plenty of unique and profound insights on today's political atmosphere. Following the talk with Wertheimer, KUNM's news staff will hold a panel discussing current issues as well as their memories relating to KUNM. General admission is $25, but reserved VIP seating (plus a private reception before the show gets going) tickets are $100. (Megan Reneau)
