Not Your Average Bug's Life
From the brilliant mind of Deborah Colker and the contemporary circus performance company Cirque du Soleil, the show Ovo premieres in N.M. this Wednesday, March 1, at Santa Ana Star Center and runs through the weekend to March 5. The core of the dancing and music stems from Brazilian music—an influence from Brazilian natives Colker (who choreographed the opening ceremony of the 2016 Summer Olympics) and composer Berna Ceppas. The plot of the show follows a group of insects moving throughout their environment and life when a mysterious egg appears in their midst while performing circus acts like hand balancing, foot juggling, aerial cradles, diabolos, contortion, slack wires and more. Tickets for kids are $25-$80, for adults, $36-$145, for a show room, $145-$160, and family packs range from $28-$88. (Megan Reneau)

Rush Headlong into a New Ecosystem
OVO is teeming with life. Insects work, play, fight and look for love in a non-stop riot of energy in motion. Their home is filled with biodiversity, beauty, action and moments of quiet emotion. The awestruck insects are intensely curious when a mysterious egg appears, representing the enigma and cycles of their lives.
Cirque du Soleil returns to Rio Rancho in March 2017 with OVO, its newest touring show in arenas. The production will be presented at Santa Ana Star Center from March 1st to 5th, 2017 for 7 performances only, as part of a global tour in arenas around North America.
Thrilling more than 4.5 million people worldwide since the show premiered in Montreal in 2009 as a Big Top show, OVO will embark on a new journey, performing the same captivating production, but now in arenas, giving more people the opportunity to enjoy a Cirque du Soleil show in their own town.
