Explore the fundamentals of tap dancing in a low stress, easy going environment centered in slow progression of moves and terminology and an understanding of the evolution of tap. Registration recommended.
Did you ever watch “Singing in the Rain” and wish that you could grab a pair of tap shoes and break into some sweet tap moves? If so, this class is for you! Over the course of 6 weeks, we will explore the fundamentals of tap dancing in a low stress, easy going environment centered in slow progression of moves and terminology and an understanding of the evolution of tap. Keeping in the Bianca Lily Ballet tradition, physical limitations will be respected while we blend healthy movement with a love of motion. This course will be taught by Annmarie Sheahan, an Albuquerque native who has been tapping since the age of six. Annmarie is heavily involved in the city’s dance community as a tap and jazz instructor at Sandra’s School of Dance and as a Core A dancer in Albuquerque’s only performing tap troop, the Alley Kats Tap Company. Her classes meld a focus on improving technique with the pure enjoyment of movement and appreciation for the art of tap dancing.
Course limit: 10 No drop-ins since this course builds week to week.
