Eighth Annual Holiday Sleeping Bag Drive

Baby, It's Bad Out There

In the words of Dean Martin, “Baby, it's cold outside.” So lend a helping hand to the homeless folks in Burque by contributing to Astro-Zombies' 8th Annual Holiday Sleeping Bag Drive. Now through Saturday, Dec. 24, drop off new, adult-sized cold weather sleeping bags at the comic store to help local homeless people weather the winter cold. The bags will be distributed throughout the community on Christmas Eve. And for each bag you donate, you'll also be entered in a raffle to win awesome prizes from the likes of Masks Y Mas, Rude Boy Cookies, Archetype Dermigraphic Studio and more. After all, when told, “Baby, you'd freeze out there,” even Dean's lady asked him to lend her a coat. (Renée Chavez)

ASTRO-ZOMBIES HOLDS

8TH ANNUAL HOLIDAY

SLEEPING BAG DRIVE

For Immediate Release

Local comic book store Astro-Zombies along with their charity Comics Cause! are holding their 8th annual holiday sleeping bag drive for the homeless.

Each holiday season Astro-Zombies collects donations of new, adult sized cold weather sleeping bags. Every bag entered is also an entry into a raffle for prizes donated by local businesses.

The winners are picked on Christmas Eve and that night the staff of Astro-Zombies goes out and distributes the bags thru out the Albuquerque community to those in need. Last year we passed out over 80 bags that night.

This year's prizes are provided by Masks Y Mas, Rude Boy Cookies, Archetype Dermigraphic Studio, Albuquerque Tourism & Sightseeing Factory, Astro-Zombies, BZ Skate Shop and Funko Toys.

Astro-Zombies has been a fixture of the Nob Hill community for over 17 years and has won 'best of the city' awards in many local publications, was named a top ten comic shop in the US by Playboy magazine, as well as being nominated in 2011 for the prestigious 'Eisner Award' for Best Comic Shop.
