Flyer

The Santa Fe based duo, Round Mountain comprised of multi-instrumentalist brothers Char and Robby Rothschild, blends “dusty American grit with a worldly amalgam of global influences.” World travelers, they weave everything from Appalachian, Celtic, West African, Balkan and Middle-Eastern musical elements into their original folk Americana songs. Taksim, (which means ‘improvisation’ in the Middle East) is also the name of the band created by multi-woodwind player and percussionist Souren Baronian that fuses traditional instrumentation with Middle Eastern rhythms, a jazz vocabulary and bebop sensibilities. With Paul Brown, bass; Mal Stein, drums; and Polly Tapia Ferber, dumbek.
