A chronicle of the journeys and contributions made by some of the greatest black performers in American history.

Flyer

SUMMARY:

This original play is written by Jimmy E. Jones who brings the story to life thru the eyes of an elderly African-American woman, Mama Josee Thorton. Mama Josee, while having lunch at an upscale eatery called the Majestic Café, seizes the opportunity to school the stuffy management on the contributions made black artists, such artists as; Etta James, B.B. King, Billie Holliday, Sam Cooke, Earth Wind & Fire, the Temptations Erykah Badu and Smokey Robinson, to name a few. The audience will be graced with live renditions of some of the songs made famous by some of these artist  during her narration. A beautifl and bold music comes through from the suffering and the triumphs of a people as they use the music in the form of jazz, blues, gospel and R & B that rinsg true throughout this play showing the world that music will always live on!
