Dress For Success
So here's the deal: The aliens are coming, and you might as well start practicing your handshake now. The best place to prepare is probably wherever the members of the InterGalactic Cultural Relations Institute are. This Saturday, they'll be at the Anderson-Abruzzo Albuquerque International Balloon Museum, hosting the InterGalactic Ambassador Assembly, Costume Party and Art Auction, where they will be auctioning off some “Intergalactic Ambassadors” painted by local artists. They will also be holding drills in the form of a “Dress For Contact” costume party for kids and adults. My costume? A rented tuxedo. I'm pretty sure the ETs will then believe that I'm a man of great political influence—their ignorance of our cultural norms preventing them from asking for proper credentials. The party starts at 2pm on March 18. Tickets are $4 for adults ($3 with valid state ID) and $1 for kids.
