An exuberant and insightful romp from the African continent to NM, in an intimate exploration of the awkward, embarrassing and ultimately exhilarating experience of second adolescence.

Santa Fe Playhouse, Saturday, March 18 at 7:30pm & Sunday March 19 at 2:00pm

In the space of a few days, Carrie Classon lost her job, her marriage, and her home—all while living in Lagos, Nigeria. With no idea of what just happened and no plan for the future, she decides to stay in Africa and treat this series of catastrophes as an opportunity to begin “a significant remodeling of the self.”

A Santa Fe Playhouse premiere directed by Artistic Director, Vaughn Irving, this true story performed by the author is one of reinvention at midlife.

Carrie Classon is a past member of Actors’ Equity, professional theater producer, newspaper columnist, and a graduate of the MFA writing program at the University of New Mexico. This performance marks her first stage appearance in seven years. Seating is limited. Her book, What Happens Next is represented by Zachary Shuster Harmsworth of New York.
