BACHECHI OPEN SPACE PUBLIC STAR PARTY!

9521 RIO GRANDE BLVD. NW

SATURDAY, MARCH 18TH - 7-10PM

FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC

TAAS Public Star Party season is on!  The County of Bernalillo and The Albuquerque Astronomical Society collaborate in an event at  the Bachechi Open Space to bring the public the beauties of  New Mexico night skies with member  telescopes of all types and sizes.

The evening begins with telescopes setting up near the Education Building and a talk inside at 8:00pm by Phil Fleming - "The Heavenly Joy of Amateur Astronomy."  As it darkens, observing will begin and a laser-guided tour of the constellations will take place.

Bachechi  is inviting anyone who wishes to bring a picnic dinner/blanket to enjoy, and they will also provide snacks and hot chocolate with star party crafts for the children.

A large parking lot is available to all visitors at the Alameda Open Space with entry leading to the access path , and limited parking from the Rio Grande entrance side.  Please arrive before dusk and bring a jacket for any evening chill, as well as only red flashlights or headlamps to preserve night vision.
