Students direct, write and set design a miniature movie set. Then, using a cast of Legos, create a short, stop-motion film.
Do you have a student interested in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM)? Maybe they are interested in Architecture, Urban Planning, or Industrial Design? Does thinking and working like a designer sound interesting? Maybe you just want to find something new and interesting to do on a Saturday morning.
Indigo Moose and Design Plus Architects are excited to announce a new series of Saturday Studios that combine art, design, science, and engineering using hands-on projects. They are meant to be fun and creative with a new theme every Saturday, and maybe learn something interesting about our natural, built, or social environments!
Architecture plays an important role in movies and TV shows to create a setting that dives the story and brings the characters to life! From the Death Star to Hogwarts to the Bat Cave, architecture continues to have an important and iconic role in film.
Students will become directors, screen writers and set designers in this studio. We will begin by creating an awesome miniature movie set! Then, using a cast of Legos, we will create short, stop-motion films, which show how characters interact with the architecture around them, with some special effects too!
Please register on our website, www.designplusabq.com/saturdaystudios, by 7PM on Friday, May 5. Walk-ins are also welcome!
Recommended for grades six to ten. Please contact us if your child is interested but outside of the age range.
