Fanciful paintings from Michael Copeland and the exuberant sculptures of Chris Turri as well as tiny works from local artists. Runs through 6/9.
Metallo Gallery celebrates its fabulous new location on Saturday, May 13th from four until eight p.m. in Madrid, New Mexico. The gallery space – refreshingly modern, yet rustic and genuine – will be inaugurated by the newest installment of Metallo’s beloved In Microscale series. With a larger, open floor plan, exposed original beams and a lovely front deck, these artworks will be at last showcased in a gallery as remarkable as they are.
Metallo Gallery’s Grand Re-Opening will feature organic, homemade s’mores (complete with campfire!) from Santa Fe start-up The S’more Pit. Music will be provided by Santa Fe quartet Golden General. While specializing in metal sculpture and jewelry, the gallery’s collection is notable for its range of tones, textures and tenor. Metallo’s new space brings cohesion to otherwise diverse expressions by contemporary artists, such as the fanciful paintings of Michael Copeland and the exuberant sculptures of Chris Turri.
