Singer-songwriters travel from the Mecca of country to perform live for New Mexicans. Featuring Rodney Clawson, Matt Jenkins, Lainey Edwards and Billy Dawson.
Nashville, known as the Mecca of songwriting, is and always been the center of inspiration for country performers and songwriters. Northern New Mexico has recently become another place that inspires colorful and musically creative individuals. Billy Dawson is bringing the inspirational songwriting from Nashville to the awe-striking Sangre de Cristo Mountains of Northern New Mexico accompanied by stellar writers/performers Rodney Clawson, Matt Jenkins, and Lainey Edwards. The event will be an all-day experience with activities throughout the day and the Writers Round will begin at 5PM at 2883 Hwy 38, Eagles Nest, NM.
Billy Dawson is a multi-talented singer, songwriter, entertainer, author, and motivational speaker who has recently been awarded artist of the year, best country male vocalist and best country live performer by Nashville Independent Music Awards. Accompanying him are a few stellar songwriters/performers, as follows. Rodney Clawson from Gruver, Texas wrote George Strait’s #1 single “I Saw God Today”, and has gone on to write songs for Jason Aldean, Faith Hill, Big & Rich, and Buddy Jewell. Matt Jenkins from Aledo, Texas but who moved to Nashville to pursue his musical aspirations, performed at iconic Music City venues, and opened for major acts such as Taylor Swift, Zac Brown Band, and Lady Antebellum, all before becoming a very successful songwriter earning the Triple Play Award from CMA for having three chart-topping songs in a calendar year. Finally, we’ll see Lainey Edwards with her powerful, velvety voice to say the very least. She’s an Oklahoman, and her music beautifully portrays her appreciation for the Native American roots and family heritage there. She took home the fan-voted award Best Country Female Vocalist from the Nashville Industry Music Awards in 2015, and continues to be a positive influence for music-loving people of all ages.
