Bright and Shiny Things – A duo that marries the shining bravura of the operatic stage and the intellectual brilliance of the concert hall, mezzo-soprano Blythe Gaissert and double bassist Louis Levitt collaborate on an intimate program of works for voice and bass. Together, they trace a line from Henry Purcell to Glen Hansard, exploring the idea of the Bright & Shiny from surface-level pleasures to the darker cost of its pursuit.
