HoonArts Fair Trade Founder Rikki Quintana will present a public talk on the history of Central Asian textiles, including ikat weaving, felting, suzani embroidery and more, drawn from her experience working with artisans in Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan. She'll also share insights about the real life challenges of preserving these traditional arts in a world of global "fast fashion." HoonArts is one of only 3 Fair Trade Federation members in the US and Canada working with artisans from this little known corner of the globe.
