In a groundbreaking solo show, photographer April Hartford leads viewers into an immersive exploration of gender dissonance and transition. Transgender: One Person’s Journey is a multimedia exhibition that revolves around Hartford’s black-and-white fine art photographs, nude self-portraits made at key phases during her transition from male to female—from Justin to April. The images are more metaphorical than explicit, portraying the inner psychological journey as much as the outer one.
Hartford will give artist's talks at 2 and 5:30 p.m. The exhibition runs through October 7 from 1–6 p.m. on Tuesdays, Fridays, & Saturdays and by appointment.
