Hots On For Nowhere
Simultaneously loving and hating Led Zeppelin and their produce—fiercely in either case—is a normative experience for many a rocanrol commentator. But, for the sake of a wonderfully revisioned and re-invigorated orchestral music scene in Burque (Thank you Albuquerque Philharmonic) Weekly Alibi's gonna love on the legendary London-based heavy metal giants this week. We're urging readers to check out The Music of Led Zeppelin concert occurring on Saturday, Nov. 18 at one of the city's subdued yet acoustically rewarding venues, on campus at UNM's Popejoy Hall. Why? Well for one thing, music performed in a classical setting, especially rocanrol, is an entertaining, fascinating and even—some say—trippy experience that more citizens should take the time to enjoy. For another thing, combining some of our city's best players with the work of a world class rock outfit has gotta have a decent outcome, right? (August March)
