Music and Movement

Kids learn fundamentals of music and dance through integrative methods of teaching movement and sound together.

A fun, playful class where kids can learn the fundamentals of music and dance through integrative methods of teaching movement and sound together. Students will build skills in rhythm, kinesthetic awareness, listening, cooperation, and creative thinking. Through various games and exercises that emphasize the performative and creative aspects of dance and music, kids will learn basic techniques that can be applied to further study in music or dance as well as ways of utilizing their creativity that will be useful throughout their lives!

Skills covered in class include: performing rhythmic patters, introductory ballet technique, conducting, introductory vocal technique, dance and music vocabulary, performing small percussion instruments, composing sounds, choreographing movements, and more!

Musical instruments will be supplied by the instructor.
