Acid-etched copper work by artist and Jewish mystic Shahna Lax.

FlyerOpening of an exhibit of acid-etched copper work illuminations by artist Shahna Lax. The artist will be present.

Shahna Lax is a Jewish mystic who has been creating acid-etched copper work illuminations for sacred spaces in Crestone, Colorado since 2002. Judeo-Islamic geometries, archetypal symbols and sacred texts are common features in her illuminations. Most of her larger copper +works incorporate intricate internal cutwork which increases the feeling of dimensionality and light.
