Curator Josie Lopez explores the works of one of the world’s most prolific and influential printmaking workshops. RSVP recommended.
Join Curator Josie Lopez in the Beaumont Newhall Study Room to explore the works of one of the world’s most prolific and influential printmaking workshops—Mexico City’s Taller de Grafica Popular (TGP). Founded in the 1930s by Leopoldo Méndez, Luis Arenal, and Pablo O’Higgins as a printmaking collective, artists of the TGP produced prints, posters, and illustrated publications seeking to advance progressive social change. The UNM Art Museum currently maintains a collection of over 150 works from the TGP and is pleased to present an intimate look at a selection of these prints.
