Learn about the political, historical and cultural context behind  one of the top Baroque musical centers in North America.

Professor Vilar-Payá, one of the leading musicologists of Mexico, will focus her presentation on the political, historical, and cultural context surrounding the dedication of the Cathedral of the City of Puebla—one of the top three Baroque musical centers in the American Continent. While architecture and painting serve as visible reminders of the time, the music most likely performed at this major historical undertaking remained a mystery until recently.
