8 NM AUTHORS TAKE PART IN PAGE ONE'S "INDIES FIRST" EVENT SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 25
Page One Books will be participating in the nationwide "Indies First" event with eight New Mexico authors on hand as "guest booksellers" for an hour or two each on Saturday, November 25 - which also is Small Business Saturday.
These authors will be in store to recommend books that have influenced them or that they've enjoyed reading, in addition to promoting their own titles.
With the support of Indies First national spokesperson Jason Reynolds (award-winning author of "When I Was the Greatest" and "Boy in the Black Suit," and the YA author of "Mile Morales: Spider-Man"), social media has been abuzz since early October with excitement for Indies First events to be held on Small Business Saturday, when authors from coast to coast will volunteer as guest booksellers at their favorite local indie bookshops.
In a video created to promote the event, Reynolds encourages his fellow authors to visit their local bookstore on November 25 in honor of Indies First/Small Business Saturday to show their support for the booksellers that support them year-round. Reynolds himself will be working at East City Bookshop in Washington, D.C.
