Printing Press Demonstration

Power of the Press

See the type of press that revolutionized printing forever Thursday, Dec. 28, at the Special Collections Library. At this one-time-only Printing Press Demonstration, Bill Farmer, a bit of a print press historian, demonstrates the functionality of an antique printing press and explains each step in the process. Participants are also invited to see if they have a knack for setting type. In addition, the treasures of the Special Collections Library are available for viewing—like a miniatures collection and a selection of examples of early printed work. The demonstration is totally free of charge and runs between 5:30 and 6:30pm. (Maggie Grimason)
