Teen Science Café: Laser Quest

Dude, Lasers Are Still Cool

Lasers are taken for granted these days. They're all over the place now—surgeries, measuring tools, cat toys—and none of these kids seem to care. In the '60s, when they were invented, lasers were the gosh darn bees knees. This Friday, Dec 8, Dr. Russell TerBeek explains what lasers are and how they're used—and discusses whether our portrayal of them in popular culture is accurate. Teens 13 and up are invited to join the free discussion starting at 5pm at ¡Explora!
