International Folk Art Market Holiday Boutique Offers High-Quality Artisan Made Goods by More than 30 Top International Folk Artists
The International Folk Art Market invites shoppers to its Holiday Boutique at its new world headquarters located at 620 Cerrillos in Santa Fe, across from the Shake Foundation. The Holiday Boutique will be held on two weekends in December and host two special artist receptions.
Holiday shoppers and collectors will have the opportunity to buy high-quality folk art treasures made by more than 30 master artists. Among the offerings will be wool and silk scarves from Kyrgyzstan, Kantha embroidered pieces from India, beaded jewelry from Kenya and Ecuador, and peace baskets from Rwanda. There will be painted egg ornaments from Ukraine and silver and gold jewelry from Spain and Kazakhstan, to name just a few. Children’s gifts and home goods will be available, too. There will be something for everyone, with prices ranging from less than $20 to more than $2,000.
Special Artist Reception on Friday, December 15th, from 5-8pm: Andrea Usai, Sardinia, Jeweler, KOKKU - Andrea combines traditional skill with contemporary design and techniques exclusive to Sardinian artisans to produce beautiful, vibrant and desirable jewelry of the highest standards. In 2010, Andrea launched KOKKU a jewelry brand centered on preserving Sardinian culture and the art of filigree. This is an opportunity to meet Andrea, buy exquisite jewelry, and learn more about how his artwork impacts lives in his home community.
