Annual Benefit for Tariro Collaboration Concert
Music equals Hope

In the Shona language of Zimbabwe, the word tariro means hope. The word is also the name of a multinational nonprofit aimed at helping young women, orphans and other displaced peoples in the upheaval-filled nation of Zimbabwe. On Saturday, Feb. 3, The Outpost Performance Space presents its Annual Benefit for Tariro Concert. This year's recital features performances by Kubatana Marimba Southwest, Albuquerque's best marimba band, and Wagogo, a Burque world beat ensemble that features legendary local players like Armando Ortega engaging the best in native New Mexican folk, Caribbean and African grooves. This annual event is meant for all ages: a suggested donation of $20 gets listeners through the door and children under 12 are free. Remember it's for a cause so joyful dancing and getting lost in the color and flavor of it all are totally acceptable. The performance begins at 7pm and continues until 9 that evening. (August March)
