The Good Death
There is far and away not enough discussion of death—yes, it is scary, but at least everyone else has to do it, too. Knowledge and preparation, by most accounts, can alleviate some of the stress around the topic, and Americans United for the Separation of Church and State are jumping into the dialogue this Thursday, Feb. 1, from 6 to 8pm at the Albuquerque Center for Peace and Justice with a forum on legal rights around death and dying. A guest speaker from Compassion & Choices contributes to the totally free conversation along with other members from the community and AUSCS. (Maggie Grimason)

Americans United for Separation of Church and State-NM, (a non-partisan religion neutral National Organization), will be hosting an informative guest speaker from Compassion & Choices. We will discover what NM did have (with respect to legal rights attached to death and dying), why those rights were rescinded and how each of us can work towards re-establishing them. Compassion and Choices promotes placing the choice of how you want to die, as well as Medical Aid in Dying, firmly in your own hands. Come meet individuals who believe that religion should not be permitted to violate the First Amendment Rights guaranteed in the Constitution (for this and many other issues). Discover what our group is about and meet like-minded individuals in the process. AUSCS-NM supports an individuals choice to control their body.
