Featured speaker Karen Bernal, Chair of the Progressive Caucus of the Democratic Party of California, will discuss the cross-racial progressive movement to transform the Democratic Party into a party of the people. She will then join local panelists Juan Abeyta, Aleta "Tweety" Paisano-Suazo, and Andrea Serrano for a discussion on how we can transform the party in New Mexico. Hakim Bellamy, former Poet Laureate of Albuquerque will open the event. Doors open at 6:00 for a bonus open discussion on movement building for power moderated by Selinda Guerrero and Mark Rudd.
