Have you ever had an experience so mind-bending that it challenged the very foundation of everything you believed in? Welcome to Third Eye!

In a tiny, isolated village nestled in the mountains of northern New Mexico, the lives of four desperate people are changed forever by the arrival of an otherworldly stranger who seems to know the most intimate details of their lives, exhibits a keen insight into their suffering, and manifests a vested interest in their spiritual wellbeing:

John, the war veteran struggling with an overwhelming impulse to end his life

Paul, hopelessly mired in the destructive spiral of alcoholic dependency

Sara, a child lost, confused and lonely after the death of her father

Father Murray, the spiritually floundering and demoralized parish priest

Through the active intervention of this most special visitor, these four tortured souls are led on an amazing journey of personal transformation.

Who is the mysterious stranger? What is his true nature? Why has he appeared in this backwater town to four ostensibly insignificant people? And what is the spiritual link all these characters share?

Learn, as these characters do, that mystical experiences do happen, not just to prophets and saints, but to ordinary people. And discover the theme that lies just below the surface of this most intriguing tale: That wisdom exists in all philosophies. People need only to open their minds and seek it out --- and some discover it under the most extraordinary circumstances.

The author, a first-time story teller, has penned a tale that challenges the reader’s imagination, blending elements of the spiritual, mystical and philosophical into a narrative that explores the metaphysical possibilities of our world. Mr. Robinson, who lives in New Mexico, has also crafted a truly authentic New Mexico story, weaving through this compelling tale themes that touch on the rich history and culture of the Spanish descendants of New Mexico; explore the importance of culture in people’s lives, but also show how cultural exclusivity can sometimes be used as a tool of discrimination; and examine the often-blurred line between culture and religion, and how the two can occasionally come into conflict.

The inspiration for the title and much of the content of the story is the Eastern philosophical concept of the third eye, one area of the body in which spiritual energy resides, and if properly developed, can result in a heightened sense of genuine empathy and compassion for others, the first and most important rung on the ladder of spiritual progression.
