Andrew Taggart, a PhD philosopher and entrepreneur, will be discussing the topic of total work. The basic idea is that work has become central to all of human life: a reality he feels we're dangerously close to. Under the umbrella of this topic, we may discuss the impact of AI on work, the possibility of universal basic income, and how a process of inquiry could help us to bring work into the proper perspective within the expanse of our lives. In Mikey Seigel’s words: "We create what we are." Does the shift toward taking work to be an ultimate value unwittingly strip us of our ability to bring to the fore what truly matters to being human? And could contemplation be the antidote to total work?
